Taihe Hospital is the affiliated hospital and the first clinical college of Hubei University of Medicine. It has been undertaking the teaching tasks since the foundation of the university, and has cultivatednursing, medical imaging, pharmacy, medical laboratory science, general medicine and other majors.The teaching is in two-fold: undergraduate and postgraduate.The former includes clinical medicine, anesthesiology, rehabilitation therapy and pediatrics four majors with 3,000 registrations per year, while the latter has developed from joint programs with Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and others in 1993 to the independent enrollment in 2014. At present, it has established eight postgraduate programs, including clinical medicine, basic medicine, nursing, pharmacy, stomatology, medical technology and public health. There have 168 master and 13 doctoral mentors.

    The hospital has carried out the standardized training for resident physicians since 2011, and been certified as a national training base in 2014. In 2015, it was awarded as the“Standardized training demonstration base for resident physicians of Hubei province”. Currently, it has 27 professional bases, e.g., internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, etc.
